Since we bought the Motel in 1999, Rural Towns, including Wawa, have lost an incredible amount of Restaurants (Hotels too), but there are still many wonderful places to dine in our area (10 minutes drive). Lai’s Chinese Restaurant will deliver too. We thank you for supporting our local businesses and are happy to supply you with their Breakfast and Dinner menus, along with a valuable map showing Wawa Restaurant locations and many Scenic Points of Interest.

We have Complimentary Ice for drinks (we do not sell bags of ice), at the Front Desk.  Along with Frosty Mugs, Frozen Mugs, Corkscrews, & Wine Glasses (drinking wine out of a paper cup is just wrong). We also carry a selection of Frozen meals for our guests. Plates, utensils & napkins, are supplied. The Office hours are 4 till 9 PM.

Wawa has a Valumart Grocery Store with a take-out Deli, a 24 Hour Mac’s Convenience Store & a 24 Hour Tim Hortons.

Take a drive down Tremblay Road and make a “Circle Tour” before or after meals ~

Almost 2 decades ago, when we first bought the Motel, inukshuks lined the Trans Canada Highway in Northern Ontario. Beautifully made, perched on every Rock Cut, sending a “Happy Travels” message to everyone driving by.

Inukshuk, pronounced In-ook-shook, are stone monuments erected in the image of humans. One of their purposes was to communicate direction in the harsh and desolate Arctic. They were a tool for survival, and symbolic of the unselfish acts of a nomadic people – the Inuit – who built them as signposts to make the way easier and safer for those who followed.

So the next time you drive through Northern Ontario, find a Rock Cut and build your own!
