Wawa Restaurants, Scenic Points of Interest & Information
The Northern Lights Motel & Chalets are located 8 kms West of the turn off to Wawa. We are beside the Northern Lights FORD Dealership.
*Remember that Wawa’s Beer/Liquor Store Hours are very limited. Be sure to stop along the way to pick up alcohol if you are arriving after 6 PM most days and 4 PM Sundays*
Since we bought the Motel in 1999, Rural Towns, including Wawa, have lost an incredible amount of Restaurants (Hotels too), but there are still many wonderful places to dine in our area (10 minutes drive). Delivery options are available as well. We thank you for supporting our local businesses and are happy to supply you with their Breakfast and Dinner menus, along with a valuable map showing Wawa Restaurant locations and many Scenic Points of Interest.
Take a drive down Tremblay Road and make a “Circle Tour” before or after meals ~
The beaches, waterfalls and look-out are amazing!
Be sure to Visit Gord and Russ at Jones Power Sports
Are you up for a longer drive? Head to The Big Bear Restaurant in Hawk Junction. It’s a 30 minute drive. Treat yourself to a World Famous Teddy Burger..
Wawa Beer & Liquor Stores close early. To avoid disappointment, pick something up along the way. The Duty Free (before the International Bridge), Sault Ste Marie, Goulais Bay, Batchawana, & White River all have Beer/Liquor stores.
We have Chips, Chocolate Bars, Soda Pop & Complimentary Ice at the Front Desk. Along with Frosty Mugs, Frozen Mugs, Corkscrews, & Wine Glasses (drinking wine out of a paper cup is just wrong). Plates and utensils are available too. AJ’s Pizza and Lai’s Chinese Restaurant both deliver. All Restaurant Menus are in the rooms and houses.
For other food options in Wawa, we have a Valumart Grocery Store with a take-out Deli. A 24 Hour Mac’s Convenience Store & Tim Hortons.
We have 4 acres of wonderful wildlife that LOVE unsalted peanuts. You might be able to hand-feed our Chickadees, Squirrels and Chipmunks. Our backyard is all yours, with a trail to our barn & Henson Road.
We have a huge pile of Wawa Area Core Samples from past Diamond Exploration. People LOVE them – Help Yourself!
